The Great Outdoor Beaver Meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous is held every Labor Day Weekend in the beautiful alpine community of Beaver, Utah. The entire Campvention is staged outdoors a few miles up the canyon from the town at about 6,000 feet above sea level in a lush green valley surrounded by 11,000 foot high mountains. Beaver, Utah is located on Interstate 15 about 500 miles from the Los Angeles area and about 3 hours north from Las Vegas, Nevada, or about 200 miles south of Salt Lake City, Utah. The area surrounding Beaver boasts National Forest land, lakes for fishing, hundreds of miles of hiking and ATV trails, State Park land, a National Monument at 10,000 feet above sea level, 2 spectacular National Parks (Bryce and Zion Canyon) and some of the most diverse and awe-inspiring countryside anywhere in the American West.

Festivities will begin this year on Thursday, August 30, 2012 in the late afternoon and continue through Sunday, September 2, 2012 around noon and include Speaker Meetings, Marathon Meetings, a Barbeque Dinner and our wonderful bottomless cup of coffee. All of this and more for a modest registration fee of only $10.00 per person ($13.00 after August 1 and on site). Also planned are a highly unique Golf Tournament, a Nature Hike and a selection of Event T-Shirts and Sweatshirts at reasonable prices. The Motels and Campgrounds in town offer great rates and the entire community welcomes The Great Outdoor Beaver Meeting event with open arms each and every Labor Day Weekend. It seems as though the town of Beaver Utah treats us as though our members were long-lost relatives coming home for a Family Reunion.

beaverIf you are able to arrive in town early, you are encouraged to be a part of the set-up crew on Thursday morning. The crew meets at the Beaver Canyon Campground (see Flier for address) a little after 9 AM mountain standard time or at the Racetrack at about 11 AM. If other areas of service are more to your liking, assistance is always needed with Registration, Souvenir Sales, and making and serving the FREE Coffee that we serve throughout the Campvention.

A California Planning Committee meets once each month from February through August at various locations across Southern California. There is also a Utah Planning Committee that meets in Beaver. You are welcome to join the committee and help plan the event if that interests you. Please contact the committee chairperson if you would like to be a part of the planning team.

Again, please download and print the event flier.

Please contact us if you have further questions regarding the campvention or surrounding area of Southern Utah. Please make sure you check in and give a special hello to the hard working folks in the registration area when you arrive.

Each year, about 600 sober people descend upon the town of Beaver in beautiful Utah to share their sobriety and their experience strength and hope with each other. We encourage you to consider the possibility of being especially adventurous in trudging the road of happy destiny this year by joining us over Labor Day Weekend. It will be a very special experience you will not soon forget.3 beavers
